Waterpark description: The Swiss-Austrian village-themed Boyne Mountain Resort features Avalanche Bay indoor waterpark.

Designed as a winter wonderland, the waterpark includes water slides, a kids pool, wet climbing wall, lazy river, a stationary surf machine and the Splasherhorn multilevel play structure.

The “it” factor: Boyne Mountain Resort brings the classic Alpine vacation to northern Michigan, with options to suit every taste and budget.

Signature amenities include the Solace Spa and the Avalanche Bay indoor waterpark, which operators say is the largest in Michigan. There’s also golf, skiing, the Avalanche Bay arcade, and 37,000 square feet of meeting space on site.

In 2009, Boyne Mountain Resort received Green Lodging Michigan’s Leader certification for its commitment to environmental sustainability.
